What I Do… and What You Won!

We’re into week four of our State of Black Sci Fi Blog tour and I’ll have to say I’m having a grand time. This week we get to talk about what’s going on in our literary lives. We also announce the winners of our first giveaway! Just so you didn’t catch in at the beginning, we are having two giveaways. This is giveaway one; the next giveaway will be a few weeks from now. How do you win? It’s easy. Visit my blog and leave a comment (a relevant one, hopefully). The person with the most comments wins. So don’t be shy and speak up. Let us know what you think about the State of Black Sci Fi. Your comments while fuel the discussion and you might just win a prize.

By now you know I specialize in Sword and Soul, which is heroic fiction based on pre-colonial African history, culture and traditions. Last year I released two books, Changa’s Safari and Griots: A Sword and Soul Anthology. Changa’s Safari is a four book series that follows the adventures of Changa Diop. Changa fled his homeland of Kongo at a young age to escape the wrath of Usenge, a sorcerer who murdered his his father and took his kingdom. Changa eventually became a successful Swahili merchant and now travels the 15th world hoping to build his wealth and return home to reclaim his inheritance.  Book one was released January 2011; Book two will be released in two weeks.

Griots: A Sword and Soul Anthology

Griots: A Sword and Soul Anthology is a collection of short stories and artwork by various writers and artists. It’s meant to be a representation of what Sword and Soul is and could be. I was priviledged to co-edit Griots with Charles R. Saunders, the founder of Sword and Soul and a great friend. The anthology has received great reviews and yes, a Griots II is in the works.

Changa's Safari Volume 2

Changa’s Safari Volume 2 is my first release for this year. Changa and his crew are returning from the Far East with dhows laden with goods. There are more adventures to be had and profound changes with Changa and other members of the crew. I don’t want to spoil the fun, so pick up your copy and join the journey. To take a look at all of my titles, check me out at http://www.mvmediaatl.com/. There’s much more to come.

Now to announce my winners.  Two books each go out to Nicole Sconiers and Alicia McCalla. Both ladies will receive two signed books of their choice.  Please continue to follow us. There are more discussion in store and you might just be the winner of our second giveaway.

Woohoo! I can’t wait to receive my prize. Thanks Milton, I always learn so much about Sword and Soul from you. It’s a great genre. Hoping that other readers post. We need to get the discussion going.
